As one of the most authentic cruises across Halong’s sister bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, the Dragon Peal Junk offers a genuine experience around utterly unique scenery. Our junk boat cuts through the bay with sails soaring high, housing 11 teak and oak wood cabins, each dressed in a local flavour and containing 21st century amenities to allow for hassle-free sailing.
Our off-the-beaten-track route gives us a chance to explore Bai Tu Long Bay as Halong Bay existed before the arrival of tourism. Fewer boats and less waiting time for attractions are the appeal of this new bay, and the appeal of the Dragon Pearl Junk as it sails through it is plain for all to see.
07.30 – 08.00: Your hotel lobby will be the meeting point between you and our driver, who will transfer you east towards Bai Tu Long Bay.
10.30 – 12.00: We make a stop-off at Yen Duc village on the way, a real bastion of ancient Vietnamese culture. We have lunch here before continuing onto Bai Tu Long Bay.
13: 15 – 14:00: We step foot on the Dragon Pearl Junk at Hon Gai harbour, taking the time to enjoy the new surroundings with a welcome drink.
14:00 – 16:45: We have the entire afternoon for relaxing, so do so however you see fit. This is done best from the sundeck with the scrolling seascape playing out in front of us.
17:00 – 18:00: As we approach the evening, we arrive at Tra San and Cap La, two excellent areas with swimming and kayaking opportunities abounding.
18:00 – 20:00: Have a delicious dinner in the restaurant as the day fully turns into night.
20:00 – Onwards: Our overnight anchorage spot in the Cong Do area gives us a very tranquil night’s sleep. Before this, you can enjoy the squid fishing or board games that we can provide.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
07.30: A light breakfast will start the day off right on the Dragon Pearl Junk.
07.30 – 10:00: To explore the colourful fishing village of Vung Vieng, we can kayak or take a local sampan ride around its watery outskirts, discovering more about how life works while floating on the water.
10.15 – 11.00: An early lunch will give us the energy for the drive home, which we will do after disembarking at Hon Gai Harbour and waving goodbye to the staff as we board the return bus to Hanoi.
We are grateful that you chose the Dragon Pearl Junk for your Bai Tu Long Bay expedition. We believe that we have brought you a great experience when enjoying your Holiday Tour in Vietnam!
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

13: 15 – 14:00: At Hon Gai pier, we meet the Dragon Pearl Junk for the first time and climb aboard.
14:00 – 16:45: We begin our cruising to Cap La, passing many limestone karsts that make up the bay’s unique seascape.
17:00 – 18:00: At Cap La and Tra San, we have the opportunity for swimming and kayaking in the placid waters.
18:00 – 20:00: We re-board the Dragon Pearl Junk and find a quiet place to drop anchor as you relax back into life on board.
