Once you have boarded the Jasmine Cruise, you will be presented with a buffet lunch to begin the day’s proceedings.
We head first to Cua Van fishing village after a good amount of time to relax on the boat. This village is a floating community of houses acting as the residences of fishermen earning their living in the water of Halong Bay.
Tien Ong Cave is our next stop. The earliest evidence of human inhabitation was found here, as it turns out this cave was a popular place for Halong Bay’s earliest residents to shelter from storms.
Back aboard the Jasmine Cruise, we head over to the Luon Bo area and enjoy a relaxing evening in its quiet surroundings. Sunset will be a magical spectacle from here, so we will have it as the backdrop to our cooking class, led by one of the chefs of the Jasmine Cruise.
In the dining room, a full dinner will ensure a comfortable sleep. Before that, you have the chance to make use of the Jasmine Cruise’s many facilities, including the sundeck, bar, cabins and tender boat at the back used for squid fishing.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast snacks and tai chi atop the sundeck will start the day off in an attractive and deeply cultural manner.
Our hope by heading to Titop Island early is that we will avoid much of the crowding that happens on Halong Bay’s most famous island. Here we can swim, rest on the beach or, for those passengers who are more awake, climb to the peak for a full panorama of the surrounding islands of Halong Bay.
The Jasmine Cruise will return us to Tuan Chau Harbour after a full brunch is served. At the harbour, we step off the ship and onto the bus ahead of our transfer back to Hanoi.
We hope that the Jasmine Cruise was an adequate home for your time in Halong Bay. We also hope that you consider rejoining us on another cruise in the future!
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Board the Jasmine Cruise as it sits in the middle of the inviting bay. A buffet lunch will introduce us nicely to the features and food of the boat as we begin our cruise into the limestone maze ahead of us.
Our first stop is Cua Van fishing village, where we will row around on kayaks or on a local sampan boat to note how the locals who have lived here for generations still operate.
After this, we find a huge cave at Tien Ong, one with much historical significance as the first one to house humans in Halong Bay.
We cruise over to Luon Bo, our tranquil sleeping area for the night. The chef will make his or her way out at this point to give us a cooking class on how to make traditional Vietnamese spring rolls.
Sit down in the dining room for a delicious dinner in either barbecue or buffet form. Choices for evening entertainment include bonding with the crew over some board games, squid fishing, or simply relaxing on your own in your cabin.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Rise early to try a beginner’s tai chi lesson in full view of the magnificent bay. A light breakfast will be served afterwards in the dining room.
We board the Sunset, our graceful day boat, which will take us further into the bay. The first place we will visit will be Sung Sot Cave, translating to the ‘Surprising’ or ‘Amazing’ cave for its incredible limestone formations, illuminated in colourful light.
We reach a quiet area in the bay where we can swim and kayak in peace, surrounding by a wall of tree-topped mountains. We will take lunch at this point on the day boat.
Our next destination is Tung Sau pearl farm, a floating oyster hatchery that farms the precious gemstones. We will see how the process happens here.
Unwind at your own pace once we have re-boarded the Jasmine Cruise. There will be another cooking demonstration followed by a delectable dinner as the nighttime rolls in across Halong Bay.
Relaxing activities abound again this evening. Simply listening to the ambience of Halong Bay from the sundeck is one of the most tranquil things to do here, but drinks at the bar provide a wonderfully social alternative.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
It’s the last chance for tai chi on the sundeck of the Jasmine Cruise. A light breakfast will be served after this.
By heading to Titop Island directly after breakfast, we hope to avoid some of the crowds here, meaning our time can be spent swimming, relaxing on the golden beach or taking the many stone steps up to the peak of the island for a wonderful view.
A full brunch will be laid out once we return to the Jasmine Cruise, which we will again disembark when we reach Tuan Chau harbour. Bid farewell to the crew as you step off and catch your onwards transportation.
Our many thanks for joining the Jasmine Cruise in Halong Bay. It was a real pleasure to have you on board and we hope to be able to serve you again soon.
