The character of the Emeraude Cruise is apparent for all who stay with us. The ship’s interesting history starts with Mr. Merlin, who found a postcard of an old French paddle steamer and revived it with the help of the original owner. This modernised version of the Emeraude Cruise stays true to its paddle steamer roots, with the paddle at the rear and attractively vintage décor and ornamentation within, but with the safety and efficiency of a contemporary cruise ship.

12:00 – 12:30 At Tuan Chau Harbour, we meet at the Emeraude Café, from where we can join the Emeraude Cruise.
12:30 – 12:45 Once aboard, we begin our cruising, giving you a chance to check out your cabin.
12:45 – 14:00 A scenic lunch starts the cruise off in delicious style. Take the time afterwards to relax on the sundeck or in your cabin.
14:00 – 16:00 At our first stop, the Surprising Cave, you will hear of the local legends of the many limestone formations here.
16:00 – 16:30 We return to the Emeraude Cruise to the sight and smell of hot French crepes.
16:30 – 17:30 We visit Tung Sau pearl farm to learn about how the pearl business operates in Halong Bay. There is an option to kayak around the area after this, though kayaking does incur a small, extra cost.
17:30 – 19:00 A wonderful sunset will stretch across the sky of Bai Tu Long Bay. We will be able to watch from the sundeck of the Emeraude Cruise.
19:00 – 21:00 A gorgeous dinner will set us up for a relaxing evening of squid fishing, movie watching or simply reclining in the cabin; all at your leisure.

6:00 – 8:00 There will be a sunrise tai chi session for the early risers amongst our passengers. Breakfast will follow this afterwards as we start up the engine again.
7:45 – 8:30 There are many activities to engage in on Titop Island, the most well-known being a swim in the sea, walk on the golden sands of the beach or a hike to the top of the mountain via its 400 stone steps.
9:00 – 10:30 We return to the Emeraude Cruise for some final moments of relaxation and a full brunch that will send us back to the harbour in style.
11:00 – 11:30 Wave goodbye to the crew and step off the Emeraude Cruise. Feel free to use the Emeraude Café as the pick-up point for your onward transportation.

12:00 – 12:30 Sit down in the Emeraude Café at Tuan Chau Marina and wait to embark on the Emeraude Cruise.
12:30 – 12:45 Explore the ship once we have embarked, noting its wonderful antique features.
12:45 – 14:00 A delicious lunch will be served in the elegant dining room as we begin cruising past the many limestone islets surrounding us.
14:00 – 16:00 We take a walk around Sung Sot cave, noting all of the interesting rock formations to be found here.
16:00 – 16:30 Re-board the Emeraude Cruise and enjoy a snack of French crepes.
16:30 – 17:30 We can either visit the one pearl farm in Halong Bay or opt instead to kayak around the quiet waters surrounding it (kayaking will incur a small, additional cost).
17:30 – 19:00 Happy hour will precede the cooking demonstration, where you will learn the method to cooking traditional Vietnamese spring rolls.
19:00 – 21:00 Sit down for a romantic meal in the sparkling restaurant. After this, you can relax into any of the evening’s activities such as squid fishing or a movie night.

6:00 – 8:00 Some light morning snacks will accompany the beginners’ tai chi session held on the top deck.
7:45 – 8:30 We take a full breakfast afterwards in the dining room, followed by a transfer to the day boat to start our quieter explorations of Halong Bay.
9:00 – 9:30 A local resident will row us through Luon Cave, a magical wet cave system that opens up onto the adjoining lagoon, with vast karst rocks stretching up around it.
9:30 – 11:30 We explore the mystical Ho Dong Tien, whimsically translating to Fairy Lake Cave because of its legend involving mythical beings.
11:30 – 13:00 Return to the day boat for lunch before we continue cruising in the early afternoon.
14:00 – 14:45 One of Halong Bay’s oldest caves, Me Cung, will be our next stop, where our guide will point out some evidence of early human inhabitation along the cave walls.
16:00 – 16:30 We re-board the Emeraude Cruise just as the crepes are being served. Take this time to relax in luxury for the rest of the afternoon.
18:00 – 18:30 Another cooking demonstration will be put on by the chef as happy hour kicks off again.
19:00 – 21:00 The dining room will be the location for another gorgeous dinner.
20:00 – 22:00 You are free to do as you wish after this. Maybe you would prefer a social drink at the bar or quiet time in your cabin.

6:00 – 8:00 Tai Chi will be held once more on the sundeck so join us up here for a great start to the day.
7:45 – 8:30 We will have one hour to discover the wonders of Titop Island, available through its beach, ocean and the hike up to the top of the island where a panoramic view of Halong Bay stretches out for miles around.
9:00 – 9:30 Back aboard the Emeraude Cruise, you have time to check out relax before brunch.
9:00 – 10:30 Brunch will fill us up as we begin cruising back to the harbour.
11:00 – 11:30 At Tuan Chau harbour, we leave the Emeraude Cruise and board the shuttle bus back to Hanoi.

• 50 % of the total cost is required to secure the booking.
• The remaining balance is to be paid 15 days prior to the departure date.
• In some special cases, you will be required to pay the full cost or a number greater or smaller than the standard 50% to secure your booking.
• In some special cases, the deadline for payment will be required sooner or later than the standard 15 days prior to booking.

• More than 33 days prior to check-in ( departure date): Free of charge
• From 33 to 15 days prior to check-in ( departure date): 10% of total rates
• From 14 to 8 days prior to check-in ( departure date): 20% of total rates
• From 7 to 4 days prior to check-in ( departure date): 50% of total rates
• Less than96 hours prior to check-in ( departure date): 100% of total rates.
• No-Show: 100% of total rates

Cancellation by Halong Bay Management Board due to bad weather
If the cancellation is made by the Halong Bay Management Board, following policies will be applied depending on the time of cancellation.
• When a cancellation is made before departure date- check-in date (if no services have been used): 100% refund.
• When a cancellation is made during the trip (some services have been used such as transfer, food, some amenities, etc.): used services will be charged, the rest will be refunded.
• When a cancellation is made before or during the departure date and the trip must be shortened from 2 nights to 1 night, 2 days 1-night trip, plus other used services will be charged, the rest will be refunded.
• The final cost will be confirmed by your consultant via email. In all cases, please contact us directly for any urgent help. We are here to support you!
Note: In case of a cancellation decision made by the Management Board of Halong Bay, an alternative travel arrangement will be made on request, or you will be refunded in accordance. In all cases, please contact our travel consultant via email or phone for support. We are always willing to provide you with any assistance you may need on or off the board.
