Arrive in the early morning in Lao Cai after your night train from Hanoi. The guide will collect you here and welcome you to the tour with the transfer to Sapa town and breakfast.

After this, we begin our trekking into the exquisite nature of Sapa, splashed across the Muong Hoa Valley and falling dramatically to the floor below. Just south of Sapa town, we find jagged mountain ranges crowning golden rice paddies, with wooden clusters of villages dotted throughout.

Our first stop is to Y Linh Ho, where we can talk to some of the Black H’mong villagers about their experiences of living in Vietnam’s mountainous heart. We press on afterwards to Lao Chai, another Black H’mong commune, situated atop a small hill of rippled rice paddies.

A local path will take is from here to the valley floor, where we can appreciate the soaring majesty of the mist-coated peaks above us. It is here that we will sit down for lunch in the great outdoors.

Continuing onwards through the Muong Hoa Valley, we eventually reach the village of Ta Van. We will meet the distinctive Giay ethnic group here and relax for a while in a local family’s homestay. Later on, you can help the family to cook dinner before a sky full of radiant stars sweeps across Sapa.
