The wide-open spaces and lush green scenery of Sapa are what endears Vietnam’s premier mountain region to its visitors. On this Sapa 2 day tour with homestay included, you will be able to slowly unveil the beauty of Sapa with each step you trek, alongside a friendly guide and before a backdrop of the most stunning views of mountains and rice paddies in the country.
Along with outstanding beauty towering on all sides, this overnight Sapa tour offers unique and beautiful accommodation in a homestay belonging to a family of the Giay ethnic group. We will stay here, in the scenic village of Ta Van, relaxing into one of the most peaceful evenings you will spend in Vietnam.
Our experienced guide will show you the way, bringing you closer to the ethnic groups we meet and helping you to understand the customs of Sapa’s colourful, welcoming residents.
Activities: Take the transfer to Sapa town before the trek through Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van villages, eventually ending at your stilt-house homestay in the final of these three.
Step off the train in Lao Cai and take the shuttle bus transfer up the hill to Sapa town, where you will have breakfast with the guide and discuss the plans for our 2 day Sapa homestay tour.
We gear up and head out, with our first destination being the village of Y Linh Ho to the southeast of Sapa town. Our trekking will take us along the top of the Muong Hoa Valley, from where we can peer downwards and enjoy the tall views of jagged mountains with rice paddies stacked against them. The thin clouds of Sapa drift lazily in front of us as we take the easy hike along dirt roads, eventually arriving at the fabulously verdant village of Y Linh Ho, home to the Black H’mong ethnic group.
We rest here before continuing southeast to Lao Chai, another Black H’mong enclave where we can speak to some of the locals about their proud tribe’s various customs. We follow the path out of the village to the bottom of the valley, with the option of stopping at some of the roadside stalls for tea and fruit along the way.
Lunch will be a picnic affair, served in the most gorgeous of luxuriant surroundings. Continuing onto Ta Van after this, we pass more iconic Sapa scenery in rice fields and the farmers dotted throughout them, ending at the village of the Giay ethnic group where we will be sleeping tonight. We head straight to the homestay to meet our hosts and drop off our luggage, after which we have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the genuine serenity of our wooden accommodation with a full view onto Sapa’s magnificence.
Our obliging hosts will cook us a fabulous dinner, ushering in an evening of relaxation under a ceiling of stars.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Activities: Walk to Giang Ta Chai, stopping for a picnic lunch by a waterfall on the way, before taking the transfer back to Sapa and the shuttle bus to Lao Cai train station.
Start the second day of your 2-day tour in Sapa, where a full breakfast is served. Wave goodbye to our friendly hosts as we continue our trekking this morning along the beauty flanked paths of Sapa, with our final destination being the village of Giang Ta Chai. Our path takes us both up and downhill, cutting through a bamboo forest en route before we arrive at a waterfall.
We have another picnic lunch beside the waterfall and continue the short distance further to Giang Ta Chai. Crossing the bridge, we arrive in town and relax with the locals and the perfect views. After some time here, we head up a short hill and meet the car on the main road, with which we can take the drive back to Sapa town.
Enjoy the various sites of the town at your leisure before the shuttle bus arrives in the late afternoon, taking you back to Lao Cai in plenty of time to catch your overnight train back to Hanoi.
This will be the end of the 2 day tour in Sapa with a homestay. We hope that you enjoyed this unique experience in Sapa and we wish you well for your further travels in Vietnam.
