The following tours are carefully sculpted Vietnam tour packages from South Korea, crafted around the needs and wants of our East Asian neighbours in Vietnam. South Korea comprises Vietnam’s second largest amount of tourist arrivals, with many millions of tourists flocking across the East and South China seas to experience the culture, food and beauty of our country. Vietnam is one of the most ideal spots for visitors from South Korea, as its proximity and its similarity in culture make it a highly comfortable place to visit.
It was because of our various similarities that Vietnam Escape Tours launched its Vietnam tour packages from South Korea. From the ancient culture of Hanoi to the modern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, and all of the beaches, caves, mountains and rice terraces in between, South Korean tourists will find a lot in Vietnam to become infatuated with. Vietnam Escape Tours has a great selection of tours suited for South Koreans, created to delight, inspire and amaze our treasured guests.
Please note that the following tours do not feature airfare from South Korea to Vietnam or vice versa.
For South Korea, a nation steeped in a beautiful and ancient culture, it is fascinating to see how other such long-held customs have developed from across the sea. To get a good scale of Vietnamese culture both past and present, South Korean visitors can head to any of the cities of Vietnam, which wear their heart on their sleeves and are hugely proud of their traditions. For natural beauty, South Korea is also well-endowed, but in a much different way from the splendour typically on show across Vietnam.
Hanoi is the leading example of Vietnamese culture and its evolution through time. The capital still proudly displays centuries-old customs and architecture, even amongst the rush of life in modern Vietnam. Vietnam package tours from South Korea usually focus on showing our guests the wonders of Hanoi on a city tour, where the ancient, colonial and modern are visited in equal measure. Because of its many layers of observable history, Hanoi is one of the most photogenic cities in the world, lending itself to entire days of aimless strolling, finding incredible beauty in architecture, greenery and the humble daily lives of the locals.
Though Hanoi is blessed with fantastic architecture, the natural beauty of Vietnam shines brightest in its surrounding areas. One of the more popular of these is Sapa, a former French hill station situated on the northern border with China, now an area with exquisite trekking paths cut into the side of its breath-taking limestone mountains. Situated about 6 hours north of Hanoi by bus, many of our Vietnam tour packages from South Korea include overnight bus or train transfers from the capital, as well as guided 1, 2 or 3-day hikes around golden rice paddies, enormous valleys and quaint ethnic villages with smiling locals.
In Halong Bay, all of Vietnam’s beauty is summed up in one 1,550km2 area. The gorgeous seascape of limestone mountains, deep caves, untouched beaches, wild jungle and evocative fishing villages attracts visitors worldwide, and South Korea is luckily located just a few hours’ distance away. Many of the following Vietnam package holidays from South Korea visit Halong Bay, allowing our Korean guests to soak up the bay’s unremitting splendour on a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day cruise. Such cruises offer plenty of activities as well as time to relax on board, with various cultural additions such as traditional tea ceremonies and cooking demonstrations.
Hanoi may be the champion of old, colonial and modern Vietnamese culture, but Hoi An is firmly, and highly attractively, stuck in the past. Much of Hoi An still has the magical feeling of a deeply cultural 15th century port, which is how the small town in the middle of the country came to be known. The part it played as a harbour on the Maritime Silk Road brought it immense wealth and a mixture of cultures from all over, including Korean. Nowadays, the focus has shifted to tourism, but the town remains as beautiful, vibrant and lively as it has ever been, and is easily the most photogenic town in the country.
Vietnam’s most modern city has many similarities with those of South Korea. This is the city of big business and retained traditions, much like Seoul, featuring a wealth of skyscrapers sitting amongst ancient temples and overlooking an ancient river. The listed Vietnam package tours for South Koreans offers city tours of the old capital of the Republic of Vietnam, looking at the scale of the city’s toll from the war at the War Remnant’s Museum and the Independence Palace. Trips outside the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels solidify a turbulent 20th century for Saigon, but the rapid growth of business spells good news for the city.
Many beautiful waterways wind their way through the Mekong Delta, located just south of Ho Chi Minh City, creating a lush wonderland that acts as a great daytrip or multi-day trip from Saigon. There is a lot for South Koreans to gain from a visit to the historic land, which produces the most amount of fruit and rice than any other area in the country, giving it the title ‘the rice bowl of Vietnam’. Serene boat rides down canals, bustling floating markets and walks around orchards bursting with fruit feature on many of our southern Vietnam package tours from South Korea, giving you a taste of an antique way of life which still has much relevance today.
Vietnam will always have a lot to offer for South Korean tourists, even though our cultures differ in many aspects. There is a huge love of Korean culture in Vietnam, and you will always be treated well in our very welcoming country.
Good Tour Lengths – The 5-hour flight time between South Korea and Vietnam is one of the reasons that our country is so popular with visiting Koreans. Because of this, South Koreans often stop over in Vietnam for a tour of around a week, though trips can be longer. We have arranged all of the following Vietnam package deals from South Korea to be of about one week in length, giving you enough chance to enjoy our country before returning uninterrupted to work. A few longer tours are also listed for our South Korean guests with a bit more time on their hands.
Religious Respect – South Koreans can always feel comfortable in Vietnam when expressing their religion, be it either of the two main followings; Christianity and Buddhism. Both are followed well in Vietnam and there are certainly no shortage of places to worship here, especially in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Ninh Binh province.
Delicious and Homely Food – There are certainly differences with Korean food and Vietnamese food, but the way that we engage in our meals is the same. Family time is highly prized in our countries and visiting South Koreans will find that we eat very similarly to the manner they are used to at home. For guests missing their home country’s food, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and some other cities feature Korean chain restaurants serving beautiful Korean barbecue.
Amongst the well-known and well-respected airlines flying between our two countries are Vietnam Airlines, Korean Air, Vietjet Air, Jeju Air, Jin Air, and T’Way Air. This gives a great amount of flexibility for South Koreans travelling to Vietnam; the destinations, average lengths and prices of which are listed below.

If your planned holiday is less than or equal to 14 days in length, then visitors to South Korea can enter visa free. For trips of longer than 14 days, up to 3 months, South Koreans must obtain a visa through either of the two following methods:
Apply at the Embassy – Potential visitors to Vietnam can visit the Vietnam embassy in Seoul, which provides citizens with a visa stamp before they depart for Vietnam. This is done through arranging an appointment by phone or email, providing all necessary documents and the visa fee, filling out the application form and awaiting your passport in the post.
Apply with a travel agency – Through a company such as Vietnam Escape Tours, we can arrange visas for guests coming on our Vietnam tour packages from South Korea. Simply contact us beforehand to arrange your visa, which will come in the form of an emailed application form and approval letter, both of which should be taken to the international airport in Vietnam and presented alongisde two passport photos and the visa stamping fee. Please be aware that visa fees are sometimes included in the price of the tour, but usually are not.
The local currency is dong and it is used universally in Vietnam. Because of its large denominations, visitors often get confused and would prefer to be dealing with familiar dollars in order to avoid a scam. This is understandable, though the chances of getting U.S dollars accepted by businesses is very low, especially if they are just a small, streetside cafe or food stall. We advise you to bring U.S dollars and transfer most of it into dong, keeping the rest for emergencies or for paying large sums of money at a time, such as to tour companies or hotels.
Unlike Korea, Vietnam is still in the midst of growing its public transport system, but significant steps still need to be made. As you will see when arriving here, almost all of our citizens get around by motorbike and car, and there aren’t many times that you will see buses on the street, especially in the central Old Quarter district. For getting around in your free time, motorbike and car taxis present the most reliable and flexible option, but on one of our package vacations from South Korea to Vietnam, our guests can enjoy the freedom of arranged personal or group transportation.
While many of the hotel staff and tour operators that you will meet in Vietnam will have a decent level of English, it is unlikely that you will be able to converse much outside of this. Restaurants at the centre of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will have English-speaking staff, but the general rule here is that it’s best to learn a few of the simple Vietnamese words and phrases before arriving. If you plan on eating and travelling in a local way, then this will certainly help and is likely to be highly appreciated as well.
In a nutshell, yes. South Korean food is not unlike Vietnamese food in many respects, so your body won’t have to do a lot of adjusting to be able to accommodate the fine array of Vietnamese street food that our country can boast. We cannot vouch for every stall of course, but the vast majority are completely safe to eat and abide by sanitation levels designated by the government. Vietnam’s street food is some of the best in the world, so make sure to try it out!
For tourists who don’t quite feel ready to go home, there are many options for external flights from Vietnam to its Southeast Asian neighbours and beyond.
