Ninh Binh 2 Day Tour With Homestay

7:30 – 8:30: The driver will arrive at your hotel lobby in Hanoi’s Old Quarter before helping you to load your bags onto the bus. The Ninh Binh 2 day tour with homestay starts with the short drive to Ninh Binh via a highway through the ancient Red River Delta.

10:30 – 11:30: We make our first stop at Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, from where two dynasties ruled the land for a combined 43 years. We can see the legacy of these dynasties, along with incredible architecture, in the two temples of King Dinh and King Le. On a walk around Hoa Lu, our guide will point out some of the interesting features of its existence and explain the history behind its rise to and fall from power.

12:30: Following this, we make our way to beautiful Tam Coc for a buffet lunch of many different options.

2:00: We get on our bicycles after lunch and cycle over to Mua Cave, along village paths running between individual limestone spires dressed in trees. Mua Cave features a winding stone staircase up the mountain that is occupied, which we will climb in order to get a fantastic panoramic view of Ninh Binh's attractive blend of mountain, river and rice paddy scenery.

4:00: Take the slow and scenic cycle back to Tam Coc across more flat rice paddies and the forested karsts looming over them.

4:30 – 5:00: Relax in the homestay with a view of the fabulous and famous river after we have checked in. There will be a short cooking class later to show you how to create one of the many dishes eaten throughout Vietnam on a daily basis.

7:00: Dinner will be served at the homestay as the night sky emerges above the silent silhouettes of limestone towers across Ninh Binh.

7:30: We take breakfast at the homestay, served by our wonderful hosts, before moving onto a local market. Here we will see the locals of Tam Coc buying food and other daily necessities in a lively, friendly atmosphere.

9:00: Returning to the center of Tam Coc, we board a local sampan boat and take a serene ride down the Ngo Dong River. This is certainly one of the highlights of your Hanoi to Ninh Binh 2-day tour, as the beauty on display is more magical when viewed from a traditional wooden boat. We will cruise for a couple of hours, marvelling at the mountains, rice paddies, caves and exotic wildlife visible from the snaking river.

11:30: We get back to the homestay and enjoy our final meal of the trip, a gorgeous lunch made by our hosts.

12:00: After checking out of the homestay, you will have some free time to either relax or explore Ninh Binh further at your own leisure. You may want to spend this at the Bich Dong Pagoda in Tam Coc, a wonderfully ancient temple built into a cave and next to a lotus-filled lake.

3:00: Our tour will conclude with an afternoon tea session, served before the grandeur of Ninh Binh.

4:00: We board the bus back to Hanoi, where our last views of Ninh Binh will be those of stretching rice paddies and imposing mountains from the highway.

We will arrive in Hanoi at some point between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, where the drop-off at your hotel will bring the Ninh Binh 2-day tour with homestay to a close.
