Across Vietnam, there are several places where nature, history and culture combine in a jaw-dropping marriage of this beautiful country’s best assets. One such area is Ninh Binh province, where the following Tam Coc and Hoa Lu day tour from Hanoi With Limousine takes place, providing guests of Vietnam Escape Tours with our country’s iconic mix of unique beauties.
One of our stops, Hoa Lu, is revered countrywide for its role as Vietnam’s capital in the 10th and early 11th centuries. This beautiful location offers tourists the chance to see the exceptional architecture of ancient Vietnam and learn of the evocative history of the country during its formation. From here, we visit the village of Tam Coc, where a beautiful river cutting through the centre delivers stunning views of mountains, caves and rice paddies around. We end the Tam Coc and Hoa Lu one day from Hanoi with a relaxing cycle around the rural attractions of Tam Coc village, all before returning across more alluring countryside to the capital.
Vietnam Escape Tours is a professional tour operator with years of experience and the backing of over 2,500 5-star TripAdvisor reviews. Escape the ordinary with us.
Activities: Take a walking tour of Hoa Lu, a boat ride on the Ngo Dong River and a cycle around Tam Coc before returning to Hanoi.
8:00 – 8:30 am: We begin your day tour from Hanoi to Hoa Lu Tam Coc with collection at your hotel, before an appealing drive southwards through the Red River Delta will see us arrive in Ninh Binh.
10:30 – 11:00 am: In the northern reaches of Ninh Binh, we start our tour at Hoa Lu, the seat of power in Vietnam for 43 years. Over this short time, two dynasties rose, fell and led the country from a beautiful enclave on the banks of the Sao Khe River. We take a walk around Hoa Lu and soak in the mixture of ancient architecture and luxuriant scenery, manifested across the temples of King Dinh and King Le that sit before verdant jungle and towering mountains.
1:00 pm: After our time in Hoa Lu, we continue for a short distance southwards to Tam Coc, where we sit down for a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant. We head to the centre of the village following this, where we will find the head of the Ngo Dong River.
1:30 pm: One of the local rowers here will take us out on sampan boats along the gorgeous, snaking river. On the 90-minute boat ride, we find pristine scenery amid dramatic mountain ranges, eerie wet caves and rice paddies in the shallow riverbed.
3:00 pm: Back on land, we board our bicycles and head out into the rural surrounds of Tam Coc, where incredibly lush fields of rice stretch far to the feet of gorgeous mountains. Along quaint paths, we see some of the most beautiful spots of this ancient village, still steeped in alluring tradition from bygone years.
4:00 pm: We arrive back at the centre of Tam Coc, where our comfortable shuttle bus will pick us up and drive us northwards towards Hanoi. Incredible views of the vivid sunset accompany our transfer, which ends at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
