Activities: Transferring to Sapa from Lao Cai train station and taking the drive to Lao Chai village, followed by the trek through Ta Van village to Giang Ta Chai and the return drive to Sapa town.

Arrive at Lao Cai train station after your night train from Hanoi, ready to begin your 2 day simple trekking tour in Sapa. You will find the shuttle bus outside, which will take you up the hill and past your first views of the magical hill region.

Once you have arrived in Sapa town, the private car will collect you and take you to Lao Chai village, one of the homes of Sapa’s most abundant ethnic group, the Black H’mong. We pass exquisite views of the Muong Hoa Valley en route, which captures the perfect image of Sapa across jagged mountain ranges dressed with green trees and occasionally adorned with wisps of cloud. Steeped rice paddies and small forests also cling to the hills of the valley, ensuring our transfer is accompanied by jaw-dropping natural beauty the entire way.

We detour from the main road to join a side road, which is where we will find Lao Chai village. We admire the simple wooden houses here and the smiling locals in their traditional black clothing, all before we start the first trekking of our 2 day Sapa tour. We make our way to Ta Van village after this, treading the quaint paths between rice paddies and meeting commuting villagers on the way.

Our arrival to Ta Van village is a greeting of wonderful nature and the beautiful stilt houses of the Giay ethnic group. We will relax here for a while and enjoy lunch in one such stilt house, with a local family acting as our warm and welcoming hosts. You can admire their fabulous homes and use this opportunity to learn more about one of Vietnam’s proudest ethnic minorities.

Wave goodbye to the family after this and begin the hilly trek along with more of Sapa’s dirt paths. Our afternoon’s trekking cuts through an exotic bamboo forest and beside a gushing waterfall. We will take some time to enjoy the majesty of the waterfall before continuing onwards, ending at the village of Giang Ta Chai. We can speak to some of the residents here, members of the Red Dao tribe, who can be distinguished by their vivid red hats.

After some time in Giang Ta Chai, we return to Sapa via car, where you can relax in your hotel or explore the former French hill station at your leisure.

Activities: Trek from Sapa to the nearby villages of Suoi Ho and Ma Tra, before enjoying lunch, continuing onto Ta Phin and returning to Lao Cai train station via Sapa.

Take breakfast in your hotel in Sapa before putting on your walking boots and taking the short trek to Suoi Ho village, just outside the town. Here, we will find beautiful plantations of tea and gardens of cardamom growly freely in the high-altitude hills, providing a small portion of some of Sapa’s unique exports.

After this, we head further out of Sapa town along tracks designed for buffalo. We will access an oval-shaped valley, in which we find the village of Ma Tra nestled comfortably in a cradle of rice paddies and the limestone mountains that back them. We can talk to more members of the Black H’mong here and take a break for a wonderful picnic lunch in front of one of the village’s many sweeping views.

Lunch is followed by the final stop on our 2 day Sapa easy trekking tour, Ta Phin village. Along the way, find more examples of luxuriant scenery at every angle, ending in a spot of land shared by both the Black H’mong and Red Dao minorities. In the village, we will find Red Dao handicrafts being sold from small stalls, which we can browse before we make the return to Sapa.

You have some more time to explore the natural and man-made attractions of Sapa town before the late afternoon, which is when the shuttle bus will take you back to Lao Cai train station for your overnight train to Hanoi.

At this point, the 2-day trekking tour in Sapa comes to an end. Thank you for joining us in the beautiful mountains of Sapa; we very much hope to welcome you back here in the future!
