10:30 am: We arrive first at Bai Dinh Pagoda, sitting amongst the vast greenery of central Ninh Binh and displaying its incredible architecture over a staggering 540 hectares. We explore the vast temple complex, officially the largest in Vietnam, through its many temples, pagodas and collection of more than 500 Buddhist statues. Our guide will point out the attractive features of Bai Dinh’s architecture, which spans both ancient and modern approaches and features specialised materials from Ninh Binh’s ceramic, bronze and embroidery villages.

12:30 pm: After a morning of exploration, we sit down to a refreshing lunch of traditional Ninh Binh fare while soaking in the verdant mountain views stretching around us.
1:30 pm: Following this, the Bai Dinh Pagoda and Trang An trip moves to its second destination, the gorgeous river and grottoes of Trang An. We arrive at the head of the river before boarding a sampan boat and forging a path into another, highly luxuriant world. The river cruise lasts between 2 and 3 hours, giving you plenty of opportunities to delve into the splendour of soaring mountain ranges and wild expanses of the forest reflected beautifully in the calm, emerald water. Along the way, there will be spots of magnificent architecture springing out of the river, providing the perfect combination of natural and man-made splendour in Ninh Binh’s green heart.
