The bay comprises the eastern route of Halong Bay, and thus contains almost identical scenery but with a heightened sense of peace, born of the fact that far fewer boats visit it. In Bai Tu Long Bay, much of the natural glory of the Halong area shines across limestone mountains, forest-flanked lagoons, vivid fishing villages and caves running deep into weather-worn karst rock.

On this tour, we ply the calm waters of Bai Tu Long Bay, getting close to the prehistoric painting on display through kayaking and in-depth visits to caves, fishing villages and beaches. Activities:
07:45 - 08:30: We start the Bai Tu Long Bay 2-day 1-night tour at your hotel in Hanoi. The driver will pick you up here and transfer you across the Red River Delta to Hoi Gai Harbour in Halong city.
12:30: At the harbour, we meet the cruise waiting majestically in the open water. A tender boat will carry us here and we will take a welcome drink into the dining room, where the tour guide will provide us with a quick itinerary run-down.
13:30: We take our first meal, a lovely set-menu lunch, while the first of the limestone karsts of Bai tu Long Bay passes us by outside the window.
15:30: After a few hours or relaxed cruising, we arrive in Vung Vieng Fishing Village and its beautifully tree-topped surrounds. We kayak around here or take a local sampan boat rowed by a resident.
16:30: We make a stop at Ban Chan beach after this, where you will have the chance to enjoy one of the naturally occurring white sand offerings of the bay.
17:30: Back on your Bai Tu Long Bay overnight cruise, we enjoy social time on the sundeck, savouring happy hour and watching the most perfect sunset over beautiful forested mountains. A cooking class will take place shortly after this, with our chef showing guests how to cook one of the staple foods of Vietnamese cuisine.
19:30: We will enjoy a delectable dinner served as the moonlight shines brightly outside and sparkles off the water of the bay.
There are plenty of options for after-dinner entertainment as we ease into the evening time. You can opt to go squid fishing with the crew or simply relax on board on the sundeck or in your cabin.

06:00: The new morning of our 2-day Bai Tu Long Bay cruise starts with tai chi, in a session held by our onboard tai chi master atop the sundeck.
07:00: The breakfast buffet downstairs will continue our perfect start to the morning, which will then be followed by a trip to Thien Canh Son Cave, one of the most interesting of cave offerings in Bai Tu Long Bay. We walk around inside to discover its fantastic limestone formations.
09:00: We will spend the last few hours on board the cruise, absorbing the majesty on all sides while also enjoying an impressive fruit-carving demonstration from the chef.
10:30: A wonderful brunch is served in the dining room, giving you the last chance to soak up the unrestrained majesty across the bay on our way back to the harbour.
12:00: We leave the cruise ship in the harbour and bid a fond farewell to its crew. We take the transfer back to Hanoi after this, enjoying views of the verdant Red River Delta en route.
