The story of Hang Trong goes that: Once upon a time, on Halong Bay, there was a very beautiful fishing girl, because of poverty, her family had to work for a landlord. Infatuated with her beauty, the landlord forced her to be his concubine. Having disagreed because she had a lover, she was exiled to a deserted island by the landlord. Because of exhaustion, the girl died and was petrified here.
That night, when he heard that his lover was in trouble, the boy was busy sailing to find her. A storm came and broke the boy's boat and he was washed up on a deserted island. In the flash, he looked out into the distance and recognized the girl, but his calls were carried away by the wind. He used a rock to hit the cliff to let her know that he had come. He entered when the blood on his hands was profuse, exhausted and he turned to stone in this cave.
The place where the girl is petrified is called Trinh Nu cave. A stone statue of a girl, lying with her long hair, eyes facing out to sea, awaits her lover. About 700-800m from Trinh Nu cave on the opposite side - where the boy was petrified, people named it Trong Cave. At the cave entrance, there is still a statue of a petrified boy facing Trinh Nu cave. The vestiges of the storm that night are still there, the broken pieces of soil and rock in the cave, the wind howling through the cliffs, and the white foam still bouncing...
