Halong Bay is known for its uniqueness with many caves and beaches created by nature. One of the best caves in Halong Bay is Dark and Bright Caves, made up of geologic processes in Vietnam. Thanks to being created with the shape of frog jaws, tourists can visit the interior on bamboo boats or kayak.
The mysterious Dark and Bright Caves ( Hang Sang Toi) sat at the border of Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. It is likened as “the underwater of Sung Sot Cave” (Sung Sot Cave is also a famous cavern in Halong Bay), this place consists of two small caves called Dark Cave and Light Caves with feature as its nickname.
When going inside the cave, visitors will be surprised like being lost in paradise, because inside is a large waterhole surrounded by majestic high limestone mountains. Sitting on a boat floating in the water, breathing in the fresh air and blue water, admiring the beautiful scenery around, and feeling the peace between the sea, sky, clouds, and mountains will be a moment that you are still looking for. For a long time, amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
This is a line 70m long through the mountain but located on the water, so to visit the cave, visitors often have to row a bamboo boat or kayak. For travelers who love experience, kayaking is not to be missed here.
Sitting on the boat (up to 2 people), you can sometimes see small fish in the crystal clear water, some bats on the ceiling of the cave, and even birds and monkeys on the nearby islands. It is an interesting feeling when you can immerse yourself in nature to forget about the hustle and bustle of life in the outside world.

Although the ideal time to visit Halong Bay attractions is from April to July, the best time to visit Dark Cave is from mid-April to late May.
At this time, the scenery is beautiful with blue sky, white clouds and turquoise water. In addition, the weather is chilly and not too hot so it is easy to enjoy outdoor activities.
It can get crowded from June to August as it is the peak season for local tourists to visit this place and the weather is too hot so it is quite tiring for people to go kayaking.
The weather is cold with storms from September to December next year, so I do not recommend traveling here.
