The story has it that in the past, people along the coast of Ha Long lived by catching fish and shrimp. Life is very peaceful and simple. After the young man found the termite nest, he killed and beheaded, and threw it into the sea. The head of the queen termite is petrified by salty sea water and becomes a focal stone. Fishermen have boats to go to sea again and locals’ life is peaceful again as before.
